I’m excited to spend the next 100 days hanging out with you all, watch the magic unfold and see where it takes us.
The basics…
For the next 100 days, show up to your writing every day. What you do and how you do it is entirely up to you!
I will be posting daily on Substack Notes and Instagram, recording what I wrote and any observations about the process. If you want, you can do the same. I encourage this - it’s good for accountability and a great way to connect with each other. On Instagram, use the hashtag #100DaysOfWriting to find others taking part.
Each Friday I will host a Zoom writing room for paid subscribers, 2-3pm UK time, where we write together. (I’ll provide a writing prompt for those who want it). Joining details for that will be sent by email before the meeting.
Each Monday I will email a new ’thread’ on Substack to all paid subscribers where you can share your progress, and generally chat with others in the comments. I will be hanging out there too.
A few reminders as we set out on our gentle writing challenge:
Gentleness and curiosity are our watchwords.
This is about you and your writing – no one is judging what you do or don’t do.
The most important thing is just to show up, even if that’s minimal.
If you miss a day, don’t worry or feel bad, just pick it up the next day.
There is strength and support in community. Remember to connect with each other on Notes, Instagram, in our accountability threads (which start on Monday 16th September) and in our weekly writing room (which starts tomorrow, Friday 13th September).

Showing up by applying for a writing course in a bid to eventually get my degree at 42!
Approaching with curiosity is such a game changer. I was feeling stuck this morning and then started feeling bad for feeling stuck. Once I got curious about that feeling I realized I had decision paralysis about what project to work on. I will now *gently* select the project that's almost done and spend some time with it.
