It's really helped me to look ahead at my calendar and see where I can make space for writing. I'm committing to not taking on any additional work in the next two weeks. This might mean saying no to money, which is HARD, but it also means saying yes to sanity! 😆

I am currently finding a side-kick to help me with the new graduates. I have been glad to help a few colleagues with their development but I have decided that I won’t take on mentoring for degree apprentices because that turns out to need a lot more hours of support. I have been wrangling with my diary recently to fit certain things in which are important, and my boss has been glad to help (indeed, on Tuesday I was talking to him about two tasks that need doing and he was gently asking who could do the legwork on these… and that that person should not be me!)

This sounds like great prioritisation to me. How refreshing that you have a boss who encourages you to delegate instead of expecting you to do all the things!

Yes - I do feel very well looked after and I try to do the same for those who report to me!

I think what I should say no to is extra eating. My waist would thank me.

For me, though, my "just say no" will be to social media. I am going to make an effort to avoid it and use that time for writing.
